Good morning all, Wow! What unexpected news to get yesterday. I know this is a shock to all, but we are going to have an awesome distance learning experience and be back in school soon. I wanted to send some information about material pick up and how this next week is going to look. Today, January 14, we will have our material pick up from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the front lobby of the school. You will be getting student's Chromebooks, chargers, and math books. My hope is to have materials picked up and ready to go so that students will be prepared for school on Tuesday. For distance learning my plan is to have our class meeting at 10:00 AM each morning via Zoom starting on Tuesday. The Zoom link will be posted on our Google Class stream. We will be having our math lessons at that time, so I need all students to be in the meeting on time and ready to learn. After our class meeting students will have a schedule to follow where they will complete all other assignments asynchronously on Google Classroom. I do expect students to be working every day on their assignments and to submit them on their due dates. If you have any questions, I will be available to answer them every day from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Again, I know this is a shock, but we are going to have a great week and work hard! Best, Mrs. Moore

I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing winter break. I am happy to see everyone back in class. I wanted to remind everyone about the end of term coming up next week. Students will have until Friday, Jan. 7th to complete any late work. After that late work will no longer be accepted. If you have any questions about that please let me know, you can check grades in the Portal on Gradebook.
I also wanted to let everyone know that the Board of Education has approved three student non-attendance days. This is to help teachers plan and prepare during these unprecedented times. There will be no school on January 28, March 11, and May 6. The Thursday before these days will be a regular full school day. Look for an email from the District explaining this more. Good morning, Today is going to be a distance learning day. What that means is that students will be working from home and staying safe and warm. I know this is crazy and we weren't prepared for it, but I have assigned things on our Google Classroom for students. To this email I have attached a schedule for students to follow today. It lists out the assignments that need to be completed on Google Class. Students need to read the directions carefully before starting the assignment. If there are any questions at all, please reach out to me so I can assist you. Students do need to be logged into their Google account to access Google Classroom. If they do not remember their [email protected] please reach out to me and I will send it to you. I hope everyone stays safe and warm today. I will see everybody at school tomorrow! Everyone has been working so hard in class, and I am so proud to see it! This week we are having our Cans for Cocoa donation. On Thursday, December 9, students can bring in canned food to donate to the foodbank. At lunch students will get to enjoy some yummy hot chocolate. If you can't bring in donations that is okay you can still enjoy some hot chocolate. This week we have also done some testing to see how well students are doing so far this school year. Next week we are planning a Holiday Spirit Week for the fourth grade. I have attached the schedule to this post. I also wanted to remind everyone of our upcoming winter break. Break starts December 20 and we are back in school on January 3. Please take some time over break to check your grades. The end of term 2 is January 14; the last day I will accept make-up work is January 7. I hope you all have a great winter break and I will see you in the New Year! Happy November! We have been working hard in class and have decided to go on a walking field trip to Cottonwood High School to see their musical on Thursday, November 18th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. I will be sending home a permission slip tomorrow (11/11/21). Please read it carefully and sign. If you are willing to chaperone please sign your name in the designated spot. I will only be able to take 3 chaperones so I will email you the information if you are chosen. If you have any questions please reach out to me. The permission slips will be due by Monday, November 15.
I have also attached a flyer for the Excel Awards. If you want to nominate a teacher or administrator for the award.
This week is the last week for our school fundraiser "The Woodstock Cash". We are still working towards our school goal so please make sure you are getting donations and turning them in. They are all due by Friday. Also for this week, on Friday (10/29) we are going to be celebrating Halloween. Students are allowed to wear costumes this year! Please just remember that costumes need to be school appropriate. That means no masks that cover students faces, no blood or weapons, and we need to be respectful. Unfortunately we will not be allowing parents/guardians into the building for the school parade because we are still trying to be safe. If you wanted to volunteer for the class party you should have emailed our classroom parent to sign up. If you aren't going to volunteer but would be willing to send in treats for the class please keep in mind that all treats need to be store bought, we also have 27 students in our class. Finally, we are going to be doing some testing this week so please make sure that your student is attending school and getting a good nights rest. As always if you have any questions please email me. |
